Scientists developed and test new peptide called AEM-28-14 for anti hypercholesterolemia drugs, dramatically reducing blood cholesterol levels. The ideal level of LDL cholesterol is usually 130 mg/dL, adults suffering from Familial Hypercholesterolemia generally have LDL cholesterol levels over 190 mg/dL. HoFH patients who did not use drugs have LDL levels between 500 to 1000 mg/dL. Very high cholesterol acts like a poison in the blood vessels, resulting in the accumulation of fat and cholesterol deposits in the blood vessels leading to the heart and liver. This situation themselves at greater risk of heart attack or stroke.
