New approaches of metastatic melanoma treatment, provide HIF1 as new targets that acts as a sensor for oxygen and nutrients in cancer. Scientists predict lifetime risk of metastatic melanoma patients ranging from 2 percent. At least there were more than 10.130 deaths and 76.380 new diagnoses in 2016. Melanoma is consider as one of the main causes of skin cancer-related deaths. This cancer develops when melanocytes (cells that make pigment in the skin and hair) undergo malignant transformation. Ultraviolet light (UV) from the sun and sun activity, tanning bed, can damage the DNA of skin cells that causes skin cancer.
